Thanks guys !

Race 3: Intermediate Twizted Metal 400 @ Las Vegas Motor Speedway!!

Posted by Tim Wiltjer on March 6, 2012 at 8:50 PM Comments comments (0)

To Las Vegas we head for Race 3.  We have a 1 point lead in the standings, the top 5 are separated by only 4 points, and were about to add to that soon as we take a look at the starting grid for Saturdays Race.  Before i get to the pole i want to highlight a couple drivers to watch for this weeks race hosted by Twizted Metal Trucking.

First is P&C Trucking's #15 Kenworth Bentley Mark.  He won the first race and had a tough go in week 2, and this week is starting all the way back in 27th.  It seems the fire he had in week one has died down.  He will need to gain it back if he wants hopes of making chase, sure he does have win, but only 6 points separate his 7th place all the way back to 13th.

Next is of course home tracks #99 Pete379.  The only Twizted Metal driver in the Intermediate Cup, but he sure has come out with a hit in qualifying.  He sits 34th in standings right now and actually in the red for not having a spot in the field next year, but that looks to change as he sits 14th in this one.

The next driver is Moonlight's Peterbt.  He has also featured some below par finishes in week one and two, but comes through with a 12th place start for the 267 lap track.  He hopes to bump up a couple spots as he is already back in 23rd, 21 points out of 10th place.

The points standings leader Asphalt Cowboy got a so so qualifying run.  He will start in 7th for this one and hope to get some cushion on his lead.  He and fincat are the only two drivers finishing in the top 5 in both race 1 and 2.

So now to our pole sitter!!!!  This driver needed it as he is one of three drivers sitting with 66 points and in a 3 way tie for the last chase spot.  Whatever deal he made with the devil to get that bonus point we won't know, but the #76 Bank One Freightliner will lead the pack to green on Saturday and hope to lead them to the checkered as well.

Here's the rest of the field!

BIG UPDATE!!

Posted by Tim Wiltjer on March 4, 2012 at 8:20 PM Comments comments (0)

Hey guys i found an easier way to share information!!!

All talk, meaning questions, registering, and all that will still be done on the forums here.  But as you can see their aren't as many tabs anymore.  If you go to the standings results, etc tab you will find a link to the google doc that will have all this information.

I will be adding more this week but the standings, results, etc tab will explain what is already there thanks to everyone for participating it looks like its going to be a good season and many more to come!!!

Also we are taking registrations for drivers to start participating in a couple weeks for a third division that will run an 8-10 week season.  Post registration in the forum titled moderate cup league.  Thanks guys!!

Elite Cup Race #2 !!! @ Phoenix

Posted by Tim Wiltjer on March 4, 2012 at 8:20 AM Comments comments (0)

As we head into race weekend all eyes are on the Matlee Express #707 as he looks to increase his lead.  Davemin3 who finished second last week is on the pole and looks to knock Gto off his throne.

So we will get this going its a 312 lap race and the first segment is worth a little over 62 of those laps.  News just up that jgholmes has actually left A2B Australia and started his own company called Worldwide Dynamic and he is really proving himself yet again early.  Last week he took home the tons segment and he does it yet again.  Nice work to the #936.  Behind him fighting for second is #55 Dusty Bones and #554 DaveWolf.  Moonlight's Sidewynder is sitting fourth and the #00 Zoner wraps up the top 5.

The second segment is worth a wooping 93 laps today and it could mean alot for these drivers.  The most miles for Phoenix will go to OODA NA's lrain88 driving the #610 Western Star.  A great run for and it moves lrain up from 11th all the way to 2nd place!!!!  Great run for that team, as they only trail to P&C's zoner.  Who is having a very good race today and its showing.  TimDandy is making a presence after a 13th place finish last week, he sits 3rd.  Mikemin sits 4th, and Sidewynder is 5th.  Here is the lineup behind him!!

To the third segment we go.  This is where drivers take it easy and this round is only worth about 30 laps, they get their last feel for the track before they hammer down in crunch time.  This segment goes to pole sitter Davemin!! He picks up another bonus point for the race and anything could help chasing down gto.  So with that win Dave moves from 9th all the way to 3rd.  Very good for only a 30 lap segment he still trails the leader by 22 laps heading into the final segment.  That leader is Zoner, who is dominating Phoenix.  He has a ten lap lead over TimDandy going into segment 4.  But with the final segment being worth 124 laps and almost 3 laps per position it won't take much for the field to catch him.  Matlee's Happy Hammer comes creeping into the top 5 and gives himslef a chance late.  Also a driver who struggled in the first race, #409 Rusracerx is sitting in fifth.  Here is where the rest of the field sits heading into the final segment!!!

So to the final segment we go!!! With guys running hard and putting in everything they got the final segment's bonus point will go to... Rusracerx!!!  Does he have enough to catch the leader zoner???  We head into turn four hes making a push toward the bottom and Zoner barley cuts down to block rus heads up and has an edge zoner goes up to block and bumps into rus as they cross the line and Zoner takes the near win!!!!!!  It was a shootout and both drivers earned their stripes today.  Behind them was Mikemin who captures his second top 5 in as many races.  TimDandy puts on a show and is the first Worldwide Driver to get a top 5 here in the Elite running.  Happy Hammer also makes a huge improvement coming from 18th place last week to his first top 5.  Roadhog comes in at 6th, The Racerxtd driver was 28th last week and needed a good run today.  His teammate EpicWin finished right behind him and gets his first top 10.  Lrain88 finishes 8th for the second straight week, and DustyBones gets his second top 10.  The final top 10 spot goes to Worldwide's steveo driving the #22 a great run for him late.

Some notables in this one was Davemin who finishes 12th after the pole position.  Gto4005 finishes 18th after his win last week so he might be moving down in the standings.  Vinland couldn't find the groove all day and the highest he got was 16th as he finished 17th.  Some great racing ot come and with only 8 races till the chase their is no mercy time here in TSRL!!

Final Results posted in the Truckingsim Elite Cup tab.

Intermediate Race 2 - Phoenix: Segment 4

Posted by Tim Wiltjer on March 3, 2012 at 9:55 PM Comments comments (0)

The back stretch they go and I'll be honest it isn't close at all.  The duck wins the final segment of rating and takes his big lead into a massive one!!!!  Congrats to Atlantic Freight on their big win and to the duck from a 34th place finish to a victory.  Awesome  job by their team and lets see how they finished behind him.  This team looks to be a threat this year in Elite and being the lone driver in Intermediate he really has to shine and that's just what he's doing.  The #313 cruises in for a second place finish very well done Mahtan.  Asphalt_Cowboy driver for Worldwide comes in and 3rd with his teammate b154 right behind him in 4th.  Matlee's fincat comes in 5th and rounds out the top 5.  Here's a look at how the rest finished up great race to all can't wait to see u next week!!!

Intermediate Race 2 - Phoenix: Segment 3

Posted by Tim Wiltjer on March 3, 2012 at 9:25 PM Comments comments (0)

We move on into the second half of the race, the duck looks poised out their as he contains his lead, but it is very and i mean very thin.  One lap down is Mahtan who looks to have a good run.  Asphalt stays in third and b154 takes over 4th, moving fingcat back into 5th the worst he's been all race.  14colombiac wins the third segment of Money and it boosts him up some spots from 22nd to 18th.  Here is the field behing the top 5

Intermediate Race 2 - Phoenix: Segment 2

Posted by Tim Wiltjer on March 3, 2012 at 8:55 PM Comments comments (0)

As we come into the second segment we got some big moves as the pole sitter takes over the lead, thats right the duck sneaks his way out of the 4 by racing to capture the lead.  He's got Matlee's fingcat and Worldwide's Asphalt Cowboy right on his tail.  MX Trucking's Mahtan is running fourth right now just barely edging past b154wheel.  Behind him is the winner of Segment 2 which is Miles.  Fordknox driving the #24 Sa Castle Freightliner for Atlantic Freight pulls out the most miles and it jumps him brom 17th to 6th in this segment.

Here's the field behind him

Intermediate Race 2 - Phoenix: Segment 1

Posted by Tim Wiltjer on March 3, 2012 at 8:25 PM Comments comments (0)

Here we are for the second race of the season.  It should be a good one out here today and lets dive right into it. Atlantic Frieght's the duck brings us out to the green with b154wheel on the outside.

The first segment gets off and their is a lot of action right away like usually.  This is a 312 lap race and it looks like everyone is racing hard right away.  The #08 Peterbilt leads us into the second segment with the lead.  Congrats to Fincat for winning the ton segment.  Behind him is his teammate Taxitrucker who are fighting off Worldwide's b154wheel driving the #603 International.  4th and 5th running side by side are teammates Bentley and Tim driving the 15 and 16 Kenworths.   Behind them is also a P&C driver, Tucker Paul.

After that it is wild!!!! We have four wide, yes four wide racing as Asphalt Cowboy, Brikkon, Mahtan, and pole sitter the duck are all competting for that 7th spot.

Segment 2 will be posted at 7:55 ct
